For those who are not yet aware, if you have a matchmoving software, you have a 3D scanner in bonus!

Example:
A human face tracked in 3D with MatchMover Pro, the tracking points are then imported into 3dsmax via MAXScript.
These points are converted to vertex in a editable poly with a script (from GJ) and then you just have to create faces using the vertex (faster with the help of polyboost or retopology tools from max 2010)

At first I wanted to try modelling my mouth one night while a rendering. I turned my GH1 around my mouth full of points, then next night I went on to capture the eye and nose etc. This could be done in one shot, but film itself without moving the eyes is quite difficult, not to mention capturing his ears.

Pour ceux qui ne sont pas encore au courant, si vous disposez d’un logiciel de matchmoving vous possédez en bonus un scanner 3D!

Mise en pratique:
Un visage tracké en 3D depuis matchmover pro, les points de trackings sont ensuite importés dans 3dsmax via un maxscript.
Ces points sont convertis en sommets dans un poly editable à l’aide d’un script (de GJ) et ensuite il suffit de créer les faces à l’aide des sommets (plus rapide avec l’aide de polyboost ou des outils de retopologie de max 2010)

Au début j’ai voulu tester en modélisant ma bouche un soir, pendant un rendu j’ai fait tourner mon GH1 autour de ma bouche remplie de points, puis les soirs suivant j’ai continué en capturant le nez puis l’oeil etc. Cela aurait pu être fait en une fois, mais se filmer soi-même sans bouger les yeux c’est assez difficile, sans parler de capturer ses oreilles.
